A lot is buzzing at Hill Country Galleria, and we’re not just talking about couples headed to see IT Chapter Two. Saturday Night Concert Series is returning, Athleta is getting ready to open, Java Dive is back, a fresh co-op retailer will be opening their stylish door on September 13, and more.
We have pop-up shops, pop-up dining, pop-up popcorn, pop-up ads, co-ops. Yep, 2020 is all about hyphenated words, Lake Travis.
Saturday Night Concert Series
Saturday Night Concert Series is back, and it will be around through mid-October. It kicks off on September 14 with The Peterson Brothers. This fun music series will be hosted by Austin City Limits Radio and features local favorites such as Charlie Mars, Bob Schneider, Fastball, and Guy Forsyth and Jeska Bailey Band.
The concerts take place in the Central Plaza at Hill Country Galleria (AKA the grassy knoll), and you can bring blankets or lawn chairs or dogs. Yes, admission is free, and dogs are welcome.

Athleta flexing its muscles
If you need more yoga pants, you’re in luck. Athleta is looking promising. Yesterday they were moving in the merchandise. It seems like a lot of hustle and bustle is happening in this sporty new store. We anticipate an opening date will be here soon, but they haven’t officially announced a grand opening.
And if you’re wondering about Lulu, it looks like they’ll be around as a pop-up shop through the holidays. Again, we’re on the cusp of the official word from Hill Country Galleria, so expect to see that update soon.
Java Dive Organic Cafe by day, Pop-up by night
Remember Java Dive from back in the day? We were all so bummed when it closed. Well, good news — it’s back!
This organic coffee shop is now open at Hill Country Galleria. It’s not on the main drag of shops, so don’t be surprised if it takes you a minute to find it. The entrance is facing Hwy 71, between the Oriental Rug Gallery and Chili’s. Luckily, there’s lots of signage, so it’s easy to spot if you’re in the right vicinity.
By day, Java Dive will be all about house-roasted organic coffee, smoothies, breakfast, omelets, salads, wraps, sandwiches, superfood bowls, and more. Java Dive will be open Monday-Friday from 7am-2pm.
In the evenings, this space will function as a PopRock Austin Pop-Up Restaurant, a pop-up dining spot featuring different chefs and dinnertime dining experiences.
The Caravan Co-Op shopping concept
Another cool boutique opening this month at HCG is The Caravan Co-Op. It’s kind of like if Etsy were a brick-and-mortar store. Three mobile fashion trucks born in Texas — Urban Izzy, To the Moon, and Ramblin’ Rose Company — are collaborating to open this 2,443 sf ft shop with the idea of featuring items from their boutiques, as well as items from up to 30 local makers. It will feature clothing, jewelry, art, gifts, home decor, and accessories.
The grand opening celebration will be Friday, September from 5m-8pm. You can shop, enjoy live music by Max Huston (of Common Young) and Vince Seidl (of Mamafesta), complimentary cocktails by Treaty Oak Distillery, a photo booth, and the To The Moon bus.
There’s a lot more happening at HCG as we get closer to the holiday season, so stay tuned.
