It doesn’t matter if you’re eight or 80, everybody loves a great hot dog. If you’ve got a craving for a delicious hot dog, there’s a place in Lake Travis that has the cure for you. Stop by Chi-Town, the Chicago Style Eatery, and get ready for a menu full of one-of-a-kind dogs! Let’s just say, there are over a dozen hot dogs and there’s a special bacon-wrapped supplemental menu. (Yes, that just happened.)
This colorful red and yellow establishment is located at 2101 Ranch Road 620, . Perhaps you’ve driven by and seen and thought, “hey, that looks good!” Well, you’d be correct. In fact, more than a few celebs have stopped by Chi-Town to get their grub on, so if you haven’t been yet, make a point to stop next time. Preferably with a grumbling, hungry stomach.
The Chi-Town Classic is sure to delight you with all of its seven toppings—yellow mustard, sweet relish, a pickle spear, chopped onions, tomato wedges, peppers and celery salt—on a poppy seed bun. If you’re in the mood for something with a kick, try the Texas Lone Star Dog with mustard, chili, cheddar cheese, onions and pickled jalapenos. And if you’re really wanting to expand your taste buds into new hot dog territory, you can get the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog that features a 1/4 pound hot dog nestled in two strips of bacon and deep fried.
In fact, you can probably create your own hot dog masterpiece because Chi-Town has over 28 toppings from onion sauce to pickle spears to green chili salsa. Chi-Town also stays true to its authenticity by offering a great selection of Italian beef sandwiches, simply called “a beef” in Chicago. Whether you like it wet, dry, sweet or hot, you can order it to your liking.
There isn’t a restaurant in Lake Travis that can rival Chi-Town’s Reuben and Hot Pastrami sandwiches either. If you’re a corned beef or pastrami connoisseur, these huge, tasty and fresh sandwiches on toasted marble rye bread will have your taste-buds doing the happy dance.
The eatery has flat screen TVs, cold beer, indoor and outdoor seating and a fun, quirky vibe, so it’s a great place to indulge and enjoy. They are very active on Facebook with lots of mouth-watering photos and cool specials too. For example, if you “check in” on Facebook at Chi-Town, you’ll get free chocolate cookies that are “scary good.” How can you say no to that?
