Lake Travis Football Programs – A Combination for Success

In the past decade the Lake Travis High School football team has turned winning into a tradition. The Cavaliers are 8-1 this season and two years removed from an unprecedented run when the team claimed five consecutive state championships.

The ground work for that success – and the foundation for the future – all started with the Lake Travis Youth Association’s football program.

We had a chance to talk with Lake Travis High School football coach Hank Carter and LTYA football commissioner Shad Zapalac. Here’s what they had to say about the combination of the two programs and what it brings to Lake Travis football.

Part of what makes living in the Lake Travis area so awesome is waking up in the morning and taking in the surrounding hill country views. It can be just the motivation you need—along with a good cup of coffee— to get up and going in the morning. If that doesn’t work, then having a four legged friend jumping on your head and begging you for a morning walk just might do the trick.

We love our pets! And most of our pets love to eat, play, and eat some more. When it’s time to fill up the food bucket or grab a few new toys and treats, then load up Fido and head on over to Tomlinson’s. You’ll be supporting a local business and doing your part to Keep Austin Weird. They opened their first store in 1946 down on 49 1/2 Street. That same store is now part of seven Austin area stores. They have quite the history here in the Austin area.

Lakeway Farmers Market: Now The Lone Star Farmers Market

Have you been searching for the Lakeway Farmers Market?

You may have pulled into an empty parking lot on Sunday morning. The Lakeway Farmers Market, formerly located in the Lakeway Commons (where Rocco’s restaurant sits) has moved and the name has changed.

It’s now called The Lone Star Farmers Market and the location is at the Lowe’s parking lot in Bee Cave, which is in the Shops at the Galleria. Not to be confused with the Hill Country Galleria, which is on the other side of Hwy 71.
