Everything from articles that are a little more personal — and sometimes more humorous than others — to creating awareness about traffic and water conservation, this is where you'll tap into the heart of Lake Travis Lifestyle.

While You Were Away: Lake Travis Summer Recap

Written by Cathy Hale | August 19, 2015

We kicked off the summer with lake levels hovering at 660′ in Lake Travis, transforming our drought-stricken lake back to its gorgeous blue self. While the unusually cool and rainy weather continued to snag headlines in June, lots of other exciting stuff was happening in our little slice of the Texas Hill Country.

If you’ve been busy vacationing or simply enjoying lazy summer days (sans devices, we hope!), here’s your Lake Travis summer recap to get you back up to speed on what’s been buzzing in our area.

Don’t forget, we’re hosting our second Happy Hour of the summer tonight at We Olive in the Hill Country Galleria from 6-9 p.m. If you’re free, swing by and enjoy a glass of wine with us!

5 Reasons to Retire on Lake Travis

Written by Mandy Spivey | July 16, 2015

Lake Travis 06102015

It’s no secret that the Lake Travis area is exploding with growth lately.

We have the future development of The Oaks at Lakeway, promising some of the finest in entertainment, shopping, and dining all in one place. North on 620 and all along Highway 71, many neighborhoods are still growing and developing, along with businesses to serve Lake Travis area residents.

With more and more people moving to Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country, it’s tempting to get a taste of what everyone is drinking when they visit the glittering shores of the highland lake.

And it’s not just families making their way out here; just as many people are choosing to retire on Lake Travis and make it their permanent abode on the water. We get to see and enjoy some of the best living around, so we have a pretty good idea of why people would want to get here as fast as they can.

Written by Cathy Hale | May 20, 2015

Hands Free Driving in Lake Travis

It was big news when Austin passed strict hands-free traffic laws in August 2014 and enforcement began on January 1, 2015 (after a generous warning period). Well, the same ordinance was passed in Bee Cave on April 2 and in Lakeway on April 20. Warnings are being issued now, but as of July 1, violators will get citations.

Before the warning period in Lakeway and Bee Cave ends, we decided to delve into the specifics of what hands-free driving really means.

Buckle up, LT. You may be in for a few surprises.
