Perhaps Lake Travis folks stay active because there is so much yummy food to try! From typical fare (Tex-Mex) to the more unique (food trailer scene), there usually is something new or "coming soon" to try in this growing community. A healthy mindset means there are always various good-for-you options: organic, farm to table, and locally-grown, to name a few.
New grocery store options continue to offer the good stuff and local breweries are making their mark in everything from new establishments to tours and tap rooms. Specialty coffee shops and any number of local bakeries means your palette doesn't have to travel far for variety.

Take 1431 west from Lago Vista, a left on Singleton Bend Road and another on Singleton Bend East, and follow the scent of woodsmoke to the Bistro at Flat Creek Estate.
Not only a vineyard and winery, Flat Creek Estate is a fine destination for delicious food that fuses Hill Country fresh with international style. Local artists also sell jewelry, gifts, and cards from the adjacent Tasting Room.

Belgium and I have history. After spending three years in the land of beer, chocolate and waffles, our family returned home to Austin last year.
The Liège Waffle, which could be found on every street corner, was the one delicacy our family craved most from this pint sized country. But after discovering a little food trailer in Lake Travis, our craving is now in submission.

The Lake Travis area boasts an array of Tex-Mex, interior Mexican, and Mexico City street food … not to mention what can be done with some fresh squeezed limes and a good tequila.
Pair up any of these culinary traditions with the variety of homemade salsas and you’ll most likely discover a melting pot of flavors. And one thing is for sure when it comes to Mexican food in the Lake Travis area — it’s all pretty darn tasty.
