Oasthouse Gastropub interior

With the openings of all the new restaurants in the Lake Travis area, Oasthouse Gastropub will have a good chance of making it on your list as one of the newest local favorites.

Oasthouse Gastropub serves up locally sourced, melt-in-your-mouth, upscale pub food. As soon as you walk up to the joint, you’ll be greeted by warm smiles and clean cut staff members.

The aesthetic details of the restaurant are designed tastefully chic — welcoming, cozy, and elegant. You will take notice of the re-purposed wood tables and Edison light bulbs floating above the dining floor. The view through a wall of glass allows you to see all of the action taking place in the kitchen.

Happy Hour collage

There are plenty of reasons to be happy about living in the Lake Travis area. And plenty of places for you to find happy hour specials.

Happy hour is a great time to gather with friends after a day in the office … or a day with your kids. Unwind with some food and drink. And it’s usually the best time to save some money while you’re at it.

Happy hour is special. There’s a history about where the term “Happy Hour” comes from and it’s hard to believe that 23 states have banned happy hour. Fortunately, that’s not the case here in the Lake Travis area.

Behind-the-Scenes of Cafe Lago in Lakeway

Written by Tiffini Brock | February 15, 2016

Located in the heart of Lakeway in the Lakeway Village Plaza is Cafe Lago.

You are probably a regular. And have been for years. The little cafe seems to have always existed, humbly waiting to serve you delicious Migas.

The restaurant has not changed much in the 24 years they have been open.

The current owners, cousins Carleen Rubio and Miranda Valenta, took over in 2002 (Miranda came in in 2010 after Carleen’s mother sold her share to Miranda ) after the original owners retired. They have kept the little breakfast spot in its original state … with a few menu additions.
