Lake Travis Library Rotating Artists Program – Linda Buikema

Check out the work of a new artist in town throughout the month of August at the Lake Travis Community Library. The acrylic collage paintings of Linda Buikema, who recently moved to Lakeway, will be on display as part of the library’s new Rotating Artists program.

A fine arts graduate of the University of the South, Buikema has described her work as whimsical abstractions. She uses various mediums and her subjects include everything from pets and wine to cities and florals. You can see more of her work on her website. At the library, her paintings are on display in the meeting room.

Movie Night Under The Stars

Kick your weekend off this Friday night with a movie under the stars. Movie Night at the Glenn Theatre starts at 7:30p. Come dressed as your favorite movie character and enjoy live music by Alex Moorman and a showing of Fantastic Mr. Fox. Overall, this PG rated movie is pretty clean.
