Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: January 30th – February 1st

It’s Friday and thank goodness for that! Leander ISD has a winter break on February 2nd & 3rd , so I’m sure that many of you are taking off early and heading to the mountains for an extra long weekend of skiing and playing in the snow. Enjoy!

On February 1st, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will face off for Super Bowl XLIX. Enjoy the Big Game (and commercials) with some good food and craft beer.

Super Bowl Sunday is the end of the 30-day grace period on warnings for talking and texting while driving in Austin. So if you’re watching the game at a place other than on your sofa at home, just remember to drive hands-free and drink responsibly.

SXSW 2015: March 13th – March 22nd

It’s getting to be that time of the year again, when the streets of downtown Austin are transformed into pop-up music venues, all corners of the town enveloped in a continuous flow of strings and drums.

Some of us got our first taste of life in Austin at SXSW, which tends to bring in music, film and culture-loving folks from all over the world. To truly get the most out of your time at the famous festival, you need a bit of a game plan of sorts, and the more pre-show planning you can do, the better.

Tickets have been on sale for months, and there is still time to snatch up a wrist band or badge in time for the festival. But hurry, the prices go up and up as the big date approaches.

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: January 23 – 25

Looking for fun things to do in and around the Lake Travis area? If your plans didn’t work out to find a sitter tonight, you can drop the kids off for a Parents Night Out at Rollie Pollies in Bee Cave. Head out for dinner at any of the fine restaurants in the Lake Travis area.

The rain should clear out by tomorrow so you can enjoy the outdoors with some fresh air and sun. Check out Tree Talk Winter Walk at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Or find a deal indoors at Le Garage Sale going on this Saturday and Sunday at the Palmer Events Center.
