A child’s birthday party is no simple affair.
Gone are the days of gathering a handful of neighborhood kids to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey and eat cake and ice cream.
Today’s parties offer something different for your birthday child and their guests. If you’re planning to venture out for your next celebration, here are a few ideas for kids birthday parties in the Lake Travis area:
Art Attack: Kids from ages 4 to 16 can enjoy a hands-on experience at this art studio located in the Hill Country Galleria. Birthday groups can paint pottery or create a fused glass treasure to keep. Prices range from about $14 to $19 per guest for studio supplies and a creative consultant. There also is a room rental fee and add-on options.
More information is available on the Art Attack website.
Little Buckaroo Ranch: For a western-themed party complete with pony rides, this working ranch will appeal to cowboys and cowgirls of all ages. Parties include hot dogs, chips and drinks, and a chance for your guests to see the miniature horses and ponies raised on the ranch. Located on Hamilton Pool Road, this Hill Country party spot is as authentically Texan as it gets.
Contact the ranch by way of the Little Buckaroo Ranch website.
Hoppin’ House: You’ll need socks and lots of energy when attending a birthday party at this jumping house located in Lakeway between Chicken Express and Valero. Parties range in price from $165 for a small weekday party to $349 for a private party on the weekend. Maximum age allowance is 11. Your birthday boy or girl gets free admission on party day and another pass for future use, as well as a group photo and frame.

PAIYH Dance Studios: Themed birthday parties for toddlers to teenagers keep things interesting at PAIYH, which stands for “Put Art In Your Heart.” $375 gets you a two-hour party for up to 20 children at the Hill Country Galleria location. Parties are designed around music and dance, and incorporate things like hair and make-up details, face painting, bubbles or tattoos, depending on the theme. You can even create your own theme.

Daybreak Golf Park: Miniature golf could be just the thing for your little one’s special day, whether he’s a pro on the golf courses around Lake Travis or just a kid wanting to have fun with friends. Located by Emerald Point Marina, parties can also include a little gem stone mining.
