Va-room! Va-room! Va-zonk?! Car trouble.
Most days in your week are filled with places to go and people to see. And those places to go and people to see usually involve the use of an automobile.
It would be nice to have a vehicle that never breaks down, it’s just not realistic. Your vehicle has a lot of moving parts and things that simply wear out and break. So having a mechanic you can trust is invaluable.
If you haven’t found that reliable and honest LT area auto shop, no worries. We have scouted out some of the top places for auto repair and service in the Lake Travis area. If you do have a favorite Lake Travis area auto shop that we didn’t mention, please share that with the LTL community in the comments below or on the Lake Travis Lifestyle Facebook Page.
It’s information that is good to know … but hopefully these are places that you don’t need to visit often 😉
QualTech Automotive (13925 W Hwy 71 & 10815 Ranch Road 620 N)
If you have lived in the Lake Travis area for a significant number of years, you have probably heard of QualTech. Their reputation in the LT community is impeccable and stories of them going above and beyond for their customers are aplenty.
Make sure to say hello to Terry, the manager, and let them give you a free check up to see if your car is in need of any repairs.
Did we mention their shuttle service? Yeah, forget your insurance’s rental car. They will shuttle you to and from your car as it gets repaired with no red-tape hassle.
Lakeway Texaco (2200 Lakeway Blvd)
Are you tired of being hard-sold on services you don’t need when you go in for a simple oil change? Then the experience you will have at the Lakeway Texaco will be right up your alley.
This location proves that just because it’s a “corporate” entity doesn’t mean they don’t have your best interest in mind over profits. Best part is they can handle both your 1968 muscle car and your 1998 work truck with impressive ease.
Austin’s Automotive Specialists (303 Ranch Road 620 S)
This team of experienced mechanics are straight shooters — something that can be extremely rare in the auto industry. You will hear many stories of them suggesting less expensive ways to repair an issue or pointing out the issue was caused by something minor in the first place and then fixing it for free.
If you can describe yourself as less than automotive-inclined, this is the place you can go and get a honest answer on what needs to be done to your car.
Whitakers Auto Body & Paint (15303 Pheasant Ln)
The outside of your beloved automobile is just as important as the inner-workings, so finding a body shop that will treat you right is of the utmost importance.
Whitakers has a staff that will restore your vehicle to its dealership days of sparkly beauty after a hailstorm or unseen light post puts a few bumps and bruises on your car. Unlike most body shops, they will do it quickly too!
Sun Auto Service (1206 Ranch Road 620 N)
Sometimes you just need to get some routine maintenance done on your car. Life is busy enough without having to worry about where you are going to take your auto to get its oil changed or the tires rotated.
Sun Auto Service is a great place to stop in to get these quick things done, along with smiling service. The lobby also has some great toys for the kids to play with as you take a moment of zen while your car gets pampered.
Rachel Stroud says
You forgot to mention the restrooms at Sun Auto. The women’s bathroom is just the cutest cleanest public bathroom I have ever seen. They had an artist around for that one. Oh, and they also do a great job on cars!
