Cheers & Jeers for Back-to-School in the Lake Travis Area

It’s the first week of school in the Lake Travis area, so parents, students and teachers are getting back into the swing of things like early mornings, homework and, of course — traffic. The snack-packed, Under Armour-clad, manicured, sun-kissed and savvy leaders of tomorrow are ready to see their buddies and hit the books (and the cafeterias, playgrounds, gyms, fields). A Guide To Lake Travis Area Dermatology

One of the great things about living in the Lake Travis area is we don’t have to leave our convenient “bubble” for exceptional dermatology and cosmetic treatments. We have some of the best dermatologists in Austin right in our own backyard.

So if you’re seeing a few discolored spots on your legs from sun exposure or you need a little vial of youth serum to ease all of that squinting in the sunshine (dang crow’s feet!), this post is for you.

Design Lab Makes a Stylish Splash in Lake Travis

Austin may be known as the Music Capital of the World, but it’s also home to a thriving fashion and retail industry. Yesterday, on Design Lab Day (as proclaimed by Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell), Design Lab opened its doors at Oasis, Texas. This 3,000 square foot showroom overlooking Lake Travis is the brainchild of Austin’s most well-known designer Linda Asaf. It features over 27 diverse Texas-based fashion designers who are at the top of their game.

Located adjacent to the Oasis Restaurant at Lake Travis, Design Lab has an industrial-vintage theme with ample room to house current Texas designers. It can easily accommodate new lines and seasonal or pop-up collections, which makes it a relevant hub for Texas designers as industry growth continues. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Asaf at various events over the years, so I know if this is her vision it will be impeccable.
