Written by Cathy Hale | September 18, 2019

When we write about the Lake Travis area, we include the neighboring city of Spicewood, because it’s just too darn charming to ignore. With its rolling hills, wide-open spaces, parks, watering holes, vineyards, shopping and dining, the vibe in Spicewood is an authentic taste of Texas.

I mean, Spicewood is home to Willie Nelson. How much more Texas can you get?

Today we’ll take a look back, and a peek forward at three new businesses in Spicewood that just opened this summer. The list of places to visit in Spicewood keeps getting better.

Written by Cathy Hale | August 28, 2019

Almost two years ago to the day, Pure Barre Lakeway announced new ownership and a makeover of sorts. Well, PB Lakeway is still going strong because the studio just finished another makeover and rolled out new classes too.

You could say going to Pure Barre Lakeway is especially “sweet” these days thanks to the shiny new studio, updated easy-to-use software system, and class schedule. Studio owner, Jennifer Sweet (pun intended!) is passionate about sharing her love of Pure Barre with the Lake Travis area community.

“It’s crazy to see the growth in Lakeway,” says Jennifer. “The difference in only two years is astonishing!”

Art, Bikes & Adult Beverages: Austin-y Events Headed to Lake Travis Area

Written by Cathy Hale | August 21, 2019

If this cray cray Texas heat has you holed up in your house, blasting the AC 24/7, then maybe it’s time to get out and have some fun supporting local initiatives in Lake Travis. After all, the 10-day forecast only calls for temperatures in the high 90s.

We’ve seen a refreshing rise in local art awareness with the opening of new art galleries and studios. (Don’t forget, the call for mural art entries are being accepted through August 31.) Additionally, the City of Bee Cave continues to make plans for connectivity with more bike and pedestrian trails to decrease traffic congestion.

You could say we’re flexing our right-brain muscles to let our creative side shine brighter.

That said, two free events are coming up at Hill Country Galleria: HEATWAVE presented by ContraCommon on August 30 and Bicycles, Blues & Brews on September 7.
