Sage Threads & Co. – Bringing the Latest Fashion Trends to Lake Travis

Written by Mandy Spivey | January 12, 2016

You don’t have to look over far to notice just how much the Lake Travis area has been growing lately.

The Oaks at Lakeway is being built out, the new and spacious HEB went in this year, even Lucy’s Fried Chicken made a new lakeside home this year.

But amidst all of the commotion and construction on 620, you might not have noticed the small shop that went in Lakeway Plaza just before the holiday shopping season.

Sage Threads & Co., one of the newest shopping ventures by owner Kenna Johnson, is making a huge splash in the little town of Lakeway. Tucked away next to Santa Catarina, the women’s clothier and accessories shop packs a huge fashion punch, whether you’re looking to dress up for a night downtown or just a comfy outfit to wear around on the weekend. The girls at Sage Threads & Co. have you covered.

High 5 Has Arrived in Lake Travis

Written by Cathy Hale | January 11, 2016

The day has finally arrived! Lake Travisites, are you ready?

High 5, the only family entertainment center in the Lake Travis area opens today at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Can we get a community-wide round of applause?

Over the weekend, High 5 hosted soft grand opening events and VIP parties — and we were lucky enough to attend. What a treat!

If you haven’t stepped into a brand spankin’ new arcade before, it’s rather intoxicating. In fact, you may be so enamored with the brightly-colored shiny games that you forget there’s bowling and laser tag. And lots more!

Written by Elaine Heng | January 7, 2016

Main Street Boerne TX

An inexpensive staycation that can be less than a two hour road trip from the Lake Travis area — Boerne, TX.

Skip downtown San Antonio or loop around UTSA and go for this quaint town tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The best way to experience a day in Boerne is near Main Street — the most happening area of town. Or rent out an Airbnb Hideaway in the Hill Country and spend your entire weekend visiting all the shops on main street and exploring the surrounding Hill Country.

You’ll seriously have the most enjoyable time while you’re walking, eating, and shopping in one of America’s top 10 mispronounced towns — commonly mispronounced Born by out-of-towners.

Here are some of the local shops that you’ll find in Boerne (pronounced Ber-NEE), Texas:

El Gaucho Winery: A Taste of Argentina in the Heart of Texas

Written by Mandy Spivey | January 5, 2016

El Gaucho Winery

In the Lake Travis area, we’re spoiled with a great selection of wines made right in our backyard. From Merlot to Chardonnay, all styles are fermented here, making for delicious wine trails just down the road from us.

And while you may be more acquainted with wineries in nearby Fredericksburg or Dripping Springs when you tour and taste, there’s a new winery on the scene in Spicewood that is looking to change the game when it comes to making wine in Texas.
