Jaw-Dropping Plans for The Backyard at Bee Cave

In April 2014, we shared an update about the future of The Backyard.

Well, today it looks like the road will go on forever and the party will never end. Yes, the future looks bright for this iconic Lake Travis landmark, so if you missed the interesting pre-Thanksgiving news, we’ll give you a rundown.

On November 19, Bee Cave planning and zoning officials said “green light, y’all” to the ambitious overhaul of The Backyard. This enormous project includes adding three state-of-the-art film and recording sound stages, two outdoor music venues (total capacity is 4k ppl), a hotel, condominiums and 11 office buildings with a whopping 700,000 square feet of office space.

Lake Travis Area Weekend Events: December 5 – 7

'Tis the Season for Trail of Lights in Austin & Lake Travis

If nothing gets you in a festive mood more than twinkling lights on a starry night, hot chocolate and Christmas trees, then we have two must-see activities for you. We’re lucky because we have two Trails of Lights — one in downtown Austin at Zilker Park and a smaller version of fun in Lakeway behind City Hall.

Get Connected: Lake Travis Area Facebook Groups

Whether you’re a fan of Facebook or not, there’s no denying the power of its connectivity. Thanks to the evolution of Facebook groups, you can now engage and connect with thousands of Lake Travis area residents in the community by joining or starting your own group.

Unlike Facebook pages that accumulate “likes,” groups are built with “members,” so they are organically interactive for smaller groups of people who use them for communications, sharing and interaction. Today’s groups also enjoy more intuitive privacy settings. (Thanks, Facebook gurus!)
