If you’re looking for play, tumbling and dancing for your youngster that creates healthy bodies and minds, look no further! My Time Kids Gym gives kiddos the opportunity to build confidence, improve motor skills and explore a variety of engaging activities like cheer, dance, tumbling, yoga and even tap into their “superpowers” in Superhero Time. And who doesn’t want to be a superhero?

From babies to elementary school-aged children, My Time caters to all ages with fun classes like BabyTime (for babies & parents), TumbleTime, PlayTime, CheerTime and YogaTime. These classes are perfect for toddlers who are ready to explore basic gymnastics and dance as well as older children who love gymnastics, cheer and dance, but not competitively. Watch D.O.G.S – Calling All Dads

Written by Todd Hower | September 9, 2014

Watch DOGS

This one is for all the dads out there. School is back in session and you have an opportunity to show up in the classrooms and hallways as a WatchDOG for Leander ISD.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a non-profit organization which began in 1998 by Jim Moore, immediately after the Jonesboro, Arkansas, middle school shooting tragedy. What started in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas has grown into a nationally recognized program. The program runs K-12 and invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other father figures to volunteer at least one day at your child’s or student’s school during the school year.

Committing to a full day off work may seem like a big deal at the time, but after you spend a day in the school as a WatchDOG and experience the excitement of the children and how important you are to them, you’ll want to do it again.

Lake Travis Area Parks Guide: Founders Memorial Park in Dripping Springs

Written by Mandy Spivey | September 8, 2014

Founders Memorial Park playground

Getting out to discover and explore the open spaces of the Lake Travis area is a great reminder of how many amazing parks we have to take in nature, get a little bit of exercise and take the little ones out for a day in the sunshine.

In the quaint community of Dripping Springs is Founders Memorial Park, located off Ranch Road 12 just north of Highway 290. I came across this park in my Hill Country travels when I was in search of several of the area’s breweries and noticed the entrance just outside downtown Dripping Springs. After a scenic drive down the winding road into the park, you’ll be greeted with colorful playscapes, a large outdoor pool and several public football fields.

Unplugged at The Grove: Austin's Longest Running Free Concert Series

Written by Emily O'Shaughnessy | September 4, 2014

Unplugged at the Grove

KGSR’s Unplugged at The Grove is one of Austin’s longest running free concert series. Every Thursday night from April through September guests enjoy live music under the large pecan tree at Shady Grove. Although this season is winding down you still have a few more chances to enjoy the food, live music and atmosphere.

To take advantage of this Austin tradition you simply show up and grab a spot. There are chairs set up around the stage, but those can fill up quickly. So if that’s the case you can always pop a squat on the lawn. Depending on the date and who is playing, some nights are more crowded than others. Music starts at 8pm, so if you want a good seat plan to arrive early.
