“If you can count to four, you can play the drums,” laughed Tony Walsh when he saw my six-year-old’s eyes light up, enamored with the shiny drum set.

Walsh, one of the owners of The Musicians Woodshed asked, “Have you ever played the drums?” “No? Well, give it a go!” My son hopped on the seat and Walsh started teaching him the basics. Ten minutes later, my son was grinning from ear-to-ear, happily chanting “1-2-3-4…” and playing the drums. Rock on.

We had stopped by the Woodshed for an impromptu visit and immediately understood why it has such a stellar reputation. The Musicians Woodshed, located at 3698 Ranch Road 620 South, is more than a music store — it’s an experience.
