Ahhh, summertime in Lake Travis!
It’s time for a summer break filled with swimming, waking up late, and just plain fun. And for the parents — let’s not forget about the break from all the school traffic!
It’s also time once again for a summer of movies in Lakeway. Every Friday night from June 9 until August 11, Lakeway is the place to go for Movies in the Park and Dive-In Movies at the pool.
What’s showing this year? Here’s the scoop:
Movies in the Park
Get ready to start this summertime movie series the evening of Friday, June 16. Load up the family, some blankets and snacks and head on down to Lakeway City Park located at 502 Hurst Creek Road. (map)
The movies start at dusk — around 8:45pm. Get there a little earlier for choice seats and time to get set up.
There are a few unwritten rules at the Theater Under the Stars:
Movies in the Park etiquette is to set up lawn chairs to the outside and allow families using blankets to gather in the middle. That way, everyone can see the screen easier.
Also, be kind to the other movie goers by keeping flashlights off and any sort of blinking/glowing items (phones) hidden during the show.
Please leave fido at home … this is a no dog event.
Feel free to bring your own munchies, but there will be free popcorn and other snacks available for purchase.
Swimming and watching a movie — what kid wouldn’t love that?
Showtime is 8:30pm and swimming is allowed during the movie. This series kicks off on Friday, June 9. There is a $3 fee per person for this event.
Here’s a list of the upcoming movies and dates for both series. Check the City of Lakeway website for updates.
