There are big things brewing on Hudson Bend. Our friends at Infamous Brewing Company have been working since the first of the year to open their first tap room, complete with a 6-tap bar, seasonal brews and hang out zone.
Since legislation was passed by Rick Perry last June giving permission for breweries to sell beer directly to their customers to consume on site, IBC was interested in securing a space for their very own tap room.
And this year, when the suite next door to the brewery was vacated, it was time to make the move. Owners Zack Perry and Josh Horowitz signed the paperwork and made it official January 1st, and by January 2nd they were tearing down the wall that separated the suites.
The front office was transformed into the bar area, and as the space gets built out into a fully functional tap room, more beers and fermenters will be added to the new building. The new lease has given Infamous Brewing Company the opportunity to expand and stay in their home base at Hudson Bend, while reaching out to the local community in the way of great beers and good times.
The guys are opening their doors to the Lake Travis community this Friday and Saturday for their very first Hoppy Hour and Tour & Tasting. Stop by to see how the new space is coming together, and be sure to try a pint of their newest seasonal beer, “Sweep the Leg” Peanut Butter Stout.
And keep your eyes open around the Lake Travis area for their new canned beers. To date, IBC is canning their Hijack Cream Ale, and their IPA is set to be canned next. You can find their brews at area Spec’s and Twin Liquors.
